Ace Hotel Sydney | Review
Ace Hotel Sydney sits in Surry Hills, a neighborhood with its own quirky vibe, conveniently located between the CBD and Paddington. It’s a great base for exploring Sydney on foot, which is exactly what I did.
My overall rating for Ace Hotel Sydney: ★★★★ (4/5)
Booking with Ace Hotel Sydney
I booked a twin room through Agoda, which came with a cozy sofa, twin sinks, and a small closet. When I travel, I enjoy noticing the little design details in hotel rooms that reveal how much thought went into creating the space.
For a twin room, I really appreciated the double sinks and the separate toilet and shower. A nice bonus was the wall-mounted TV with a swivel arm—it meant we could watch comfortably from the sofa. It’s a small touch that many hotels overlook, but Ace Hotel Sydney got it just right.

More about the Hotel
The hotel offers a few spots to check out: a breakfast restaurant on the first floor, a rooftop bar and dinner venue, and a coffee shop. I only tried the coffee shop, which had a good setup and Wi-Fi for getting some work done.
The lobby and communal areas are on the dim side. They’re quiet in the mornings but livelier in the evenings—though this doesn’t affect the rooms upstairs.
There’s also a 24/7 gym in the basement with treadmills, a rower, weight machines, dumbbells, and yoga mats. Towels and a water dispenser are provided. While compact, it has nearly everything you’d need for a solid workout.
The only additional note I would share with my readers is that the hotel’s housekeeping service still has much room for improvement. Trash is not taken out properly, there are crumbs on the carpet from the previous guests, and toilet paper is not replenished frequently. However, front desk service and reception is receptive.
